did you do for your birthday the year you turned legal drinking age)? Did you party it up? How much did you drink? How sick did you get? Who was with you? Was it all you imagined it would be?

Here is a trick - take 2 Alieve with your first drink... and drink a glass of water after every three drinks. No hangover, I promise! Oh and eat something on your way home.

i didnt really have a very special 21st bday cause i had been in france for 7 months by that time, so i had been drinking that whole time there. on my 21st, i just went out with a few friends to a bar..i didnt really drink a lot. i kinda wish it had been more memorable, but that's ok.

I only had one drink. The birthday was good though, as I spent it with my girlfriend.

My 21st was very tame b/c I didn't drink a thing. I had some friends over for board games and pizza, they left early, that was about all! I guess no one wants to go to the bar with someone who says she's not gonna drink :) Oh well! I didn't have to smell smoky so it's a good thing.

Either I lost my mind completely, or it wasn't exciting. I don't have a clue what I did on my 21st. Pathetic, isn't it? What did you do?

Well as my 18th was on a Tuesday, my sister, sister-in-law and myself planned to go to the local club on the Friday to celebrate. On the Tuesday evening the 3 of us plus my other went to the local just to have 1 or 2 and so I could have my first legal drink out, well what was meant to be 1 or 2 turned out to be quite a few and I got a little drunk. Ended up going to my friends as I had promised I would as she couldn't come out with us as her husband was working and she had no babysitter, well the baby woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep because she knew I was there (oops) when my mum and I left to go home (her house and my flat were about the same distance from my friends) it took my mum about twice as long to get home as it did me because it was icy and she was being careful I just marched home without a care in the world. When I got up for work the next morning there was a trail of clothes from the front door into the bathroom lol.

Have a Beer! - Enjoy your birthday, but don't drink too much or you won't enjoy the next day.
Actually, legal drinking age was 18 when I was younger... for one month, then it became 19 but if you were already 18 you could still drink. When it jumped to 21 shortly after, I was no longer legal age and had to wait again. No matter though, I was never asked for my ID until my 18th birthday, and then only because a friend told them to ask me so that I could get a free drink. I really never partied to excess though, either time I turned legal drinking age. I guess it didn't really make that much difference to me since I could already drink in the bar anyway. A few friends and I went out and had a couple of drinks, but not enough to get drunk or sick. Just remember if you go out partying, to be sure there is someone who is sober enough to drive home.

I went out to dinner with my best friend and her parents, who I hadn't seen in a long time. I might have had a drink, but it was no big deal. I'd drunk before 21 in college, and gotten over the hype about it already.

My 21 birthday was a great time! We have a tradition at my school to go out to a bar the night BEFORE your birthday, so at midnight you can start drinking. Well, I went out with about six of my sorority sisters and this one random boy we didn't know really well, and I drank about seven or eight drinks...? I ended up puking that night. The random guy ended up picking up the tab for that entire night, so this boy I didn't know paid about $200 for my friends and I to drink. It was great! The night of my actual birthday, I went out to a few clubs so my not-yet-21 friends could come as well. Every club gave me a free drink, so I got very drunk again. We ended up at a bar that has an act called Dueling Pianos, and I got on stage and danced around drunkenly to old dirty men playing electric keyboards. Good times! Oh, to be young again..!

I held a party for my 18th birthday. My friends had turned 18 the year before and they'd all had parties that I'd attended, and so I decided to do the same. My mom and I worked hard all day on my birthday making sandwiches and god only knows what else. We went to the bar and got everything set up, said hey to the DJ, and then went to our respective homes to get ready. I had all my family attending, along with my two best friends and a whole heap of other friends, and needless to say, I was excited. My best friends had called me and told me they'd be arriving about 7.30pm that night, and so I was on the lookout for them. However by 9.30pm, I was forced to face the fact that they weren't coming after all, and my heart broke. I'd been friends with them all through high school and they couldn't even be bothered to attend a party for me? I called them up the next day to see why they hadn't attended. Their answer? "Oh, well we decided we didn't want to." I haven't spoken to them since, and that was 11 years ago.

hello friend...first of all i would like to tell you that in india there is no such age called the legal drinking age.In india usually birthdays are celebrated by doing hawan pooja .It is a sort of ceremony where we pray to the almighty for what all he has given us and that we must not forget his goodness. After the pooja there is a ritual of giving prasad.
