What do you think about the conflict in Darfur? Should our government step in to help these people facing this genocide?

Since long Darfur is in picture of world's problem. Many countries are ahead to solve this problem but not succeeded. I think through military add, this problem cannot be solved. Peace is the only way which will struck the mind of Darfur people, financial add is already their, but not being distributed systematically. In my opinion, peace is the only way left to solve the Darfur problem. No military add can solve the problem as the few countries are thinking. Suppy of weapons to be banned fully. Weapons in the country in hands of people must be asked to deposit and destroy. Many countries are selling their products illegally which is also one of reasons of Darfur problem. UN should interfere on Darful full, not allowing to few countries only.

I believe that as many countries as possible should get invoved and do anything and everything to help these people. It's sad to think that there is nothing to do to help them.

I realize this has been up for a while and the lack of responses is not surprising - sadly. yes, I am very familiar with the conflict in Darfur and I believe that our government can do more. They had no problem getting involved in Somalia (again) over the last couple of weeks yet have done next to nothing in Darfur. It's Rwanda all over again yet over a much longer period of time - and it's not changing. There has been a recent ceasefire - 60 days - but, in my heart i feel that nothing is going to change. If you are not already involved, the website www.savedarfur.com is great place to start. Thank you so much for posting this discussion - any small amount of interest is better than nothing at all.

Thank you for responding! I lost hope that anyone actually cared at all about these people.
