Can u tell me wat VIBGYOR stands for?

Well i think it is for the 7 colors. Violet, Indigo etc. Wat do u say? Am i right.

absolutley i was always taught it in the reverse order however ROY G BIV because it sounds like a name and that is the order in most ultraviolet to least with red being most and violet being least

i think that it is the order in which we see the rainbow colours.violet,indigo,green,yellow,orange,red.we study it in the school.
