I really want to be a comic maker also a theacher. but my mom obsessed to make her daughter (me and my sister) to become an accounting. T__T I already take mathematric and information tech major at my college (Double degree). I still made my own manag with my team also got part time as Photoshop teacher at my college. Do u have opinion what should I do?I already try to explain my dream, but she said "This is poor job." I can;t debate with her. I love her very much and want to see her smile. Btw, this is my comic. Do U think I able to be good artist?

Have you taken all your basics? My two children have changed thier minds about thier careers. I think you should keep an open mind and take classes in what makes you happy. Maybe choose classes in both fields and see what intrest you most. Your parents are doin thier best to prepare you for your future. If they believe that you will be more profitable in the accounting field then they will push you in that diection. Explain to them that you have plently of time to explore your options. If they really feel strong about this then maybe you could major one and minor other. You could utilize your talents and intrest to support ($$) yourself now and show them that this is a possible future. Like your part time job, You can't do what they want, this is your choice. Talk with them.

parents just want the best for their kids, sometimes in their obsession to, they become blinded to what their children desire. maybe your mom feels that you'd have a better future as an accountant. some parents i know force their children to study nursing, because, well, for financial reasons. but i think, in the end, it's your desires that will make you a fulfilled and happy person. so talk to your mom. let her know that why you want to pursue a different course. let her know just how you feel.

never give up.. and draw one story about your mother.. or about your family.. make her proud of you.. show her that you love her so much (even i'm sure you already did, but try more hahah ) make her think "Hey, this wasn't a bad idea at all" btw, your comic is awesome

The comic is very good. Parents do not always see what we see when we are deciding our future. They want success and we want to enjoy what we do. I say continue to try to do what your parent wants, but continue what you enjoy on the side. You may be able to both, let the real job support the desire to be a comic maker.

You have real talent and should use it if drawing and photography make you happy. You might start out doing this on the side along with doing what your mother wants you to do at first until your art develops into a higher paying career for you. Don't stop dreaming. I too love art and didn't get a job drawing, but to help ease the stress of my day job I now work on my artistic side by running my own online shop which features my origianl artwork. This really helps me to unwind and I'm not rich doing it and haven't quit my day job, but I get to be creative. If you want to take a look to see if it might inspire you go to www.geocities.com/attitude_gifts and don't stop dreaming.

Ultimately you have to realise that it is your life. Not your mothers. Sure, she might want you to do something in particular as a profession, but are you going to do what she wants and live the rest of your life, hating your profession and despising your mother for making you follow a field of work that did not interest you? I'm assuming that you're an adult. You have to follow what you believe is right for your life, not what your mother thinks is right. x. Sometimes your parents are not going to agree with what you want with your life. But if they love you and support you, they will support your decision. Good luck!

if it is your dream, you can't just change it to please someone else. Then it isn't your dream...it is theirs.

Try to convince your mother with the help of your friends, to whom your mother likes very much. The friend, your mother likes, can convince in better way your planning. You please do not try to insist. Leave it on your friend or relatives to whom your mother also love very much. OK ... they are the best tool to get your problem solved.... in my opinion.

Mommy luv you so much,in fact she doesn't want you to get a wrong path of life that do not earn you big money for run the life (that's how most parents think), so prove it you can achieve it.. if you can not... do it as your part time job until it's work ^^

I went to college to be a teacher like my parents wanted me to be. Toward the end it occured to me that it really wasn't my dream in life at all and I quit. Listen to your own heart and not your Mom's. In the end you will follow your dreams no matter what anyone tells you.

in my opinion, there's nothing better than having a job wherein you love what you are doing. ur drawings are great, you'd make a really good comic artist. my suggestion would be to maybe apply for a part-time job as a comic artist just to have enough experience and then maybe when you've saved up enough, you can go full time on that or better yet, conceptualize your own comic and start your own company..=)

^^ Thx a lot. but she never confident with her art. She always think that she is a plagiasm. She only follow japanese style and not find her own type Our parents also said same thing and it make her confident drop Thx for your suggestion. We plan that also. ^^ We want to make dubbing studio. ^^ Hope it works. ^^
