Are you in favour of building OLD AGE HOMES?

Old age Homes - Should we promote them or enhance the concept of tending towards our elders ourselves?

Do we want to keep our aged in old age homes or should we look after them at our home?There are so many families where the old are maltreated. So will old age home be a better option for them? On the other side why do we want to throw our parents,elders etc to an old age home?

Do you homework.. old age homes are not for dumping your parents.. many people just can't be home all day to take care of aging family. The key is get a good home, and VISIT... very simple.

No nebulla.............................. I am not in very much favour of building old age homes............... The ancestors which made us grow in life.......... and prevented us from many difficulties.......... can be thrown like a garbage ..... How would you feel when your son will ask you to leave home...... judt because of his spouse......... How these youngsters can break up all relationships in one go............... HOW ????????????????????????????

YES I quite agree with you but imagin where old people get maltreated, I have seen videos on the TV and seen the way the old are kept in a cell without light,proper food ,forget love and affection! I felt saddened by their plight. It would have been so much better if these people could have their own life, their own independence and good company of other old people in an old age home.

I think it depends on a lot of situations. A lot of people don't have the time or resources to care for an elderly person at home. What if the person has a few small children? Should the kids suffer for it? What if both the parents have to work full time jobs, and don't have the time to care for an elderly person? What if the elderly person has a debilitating disease, and they'll cared for better in a home? There's lots more situations that's just a few. I wouldn't consider it throwing them away, just depends on the situation.
