What are friends for?

I just would really like to know that. I have quite a few close friends. But is seems the most loyal and trustworthy ones don't even live within a 50 mile radius of me. What I am left with are so called friends who enjoy it when my life is going the worst. You know, the kind of "friends" who like to point out to you and everyone else what a loser you are compared to them. What is wrong with people? This is why most of the world can't get along with each other. They're too busy being ignorant and self centered to see no one really cares about them.
