Tumb sucking habit regarless of age is not really good. But most babies do pass this stage but not all. If your baby tumb suck, get the tumb out of his month every now and then so that it will not develop into a habbit. If you do this constantly, in a week time, you will see your baby not tumb sucking anymore. If your baby can't help it on the first few days of trying, offer your baby any good alternative, example your nipple. This is just a little sucrifice and bringing this topic really speak you do care for your baby. I am previllege to offer response to your discussion. Good luck.

I've never heard of tumb sucking. Usually people take tumbs to quell their stomach or for the calcium and it's spelled Tums.

Aw, he's only 10 months old. I'm sure it'll stop. I sucked my thumb for several years and eventually stopped. Out of us 4 kids, I sucked my thumb the longest, yet I was the only one who didn't have braces. *knock on wood* I wouldn't worry about it.

It won't cause him to have buck teeth at all. Check with an Orthodontist on it. The whole causing buck teeth is a wives tale and not fact. Many kids suck their thumbs. You don't have to worry. He's fine. Let him be happy and enjoy life. He'll lose interest in his thumb when he is ready to.

A friend continually removes the thumb and uses socks on hands at night
