Are there any freelance indexers on here? Did you go to formal schooling (including online), self-teach, or on-the-job training?

I don't know what this is, but I am very eager to add to my freelance skills to hopefully bring in more money even though I am mostly a stay at home mom. I work part time teaching at a business school while my son is in half day kindergarten. I have gotten accepted by newsstand but they have had technical issues so I haven't done much with it yet. I'd love to learn more about this indexing. DO Tell!

Indexing is basically putting well, the index, in a book. lol. Their are some formal training classes online for it, including one by US government. I think that the cost of the classes are reasonable. The part that I am interested in is that you can apparently do this job from home. But, the catch is that you have to literally beat the bushes for a job. *sigh* lol. I think that I have posted most of my info on my blog http://www.owork.blogspot.com if you are interested.
