Do depression medicines really work? Or do they just hide the real problem. If you are depressed there is a reason you are depressed right? Does a pill take the depression away or hide it deeper inside? What are your thoughts?

yes they do for most people who need them. You do however have to find the right one for you. Your doctor can help you with this. Different people react differently to each one. You may find the right one on the first try, but if things do not feel right, tell your doctor and try another one.

A lot of depression is from a chemical imbalance in your brain and anti-depressants can give you the chemicals that you are missing in order to feel happier. I started taking Cymbalta a little over a month ago as Ive suffered with depression for many years. Although it is still there somewhat, I do feel more calm and relaxed and I dont stress out over the small things since being on the medication.
