I have a family member that is cross-eyed, I don't see them much though. But whenever I do, I just try to look at them like I would anyone else. It's not easy though. I just look them straight in the face and try not to look at them weird or foucs on one of the eyes.
Sometimes I use more body language when I talk with them to distract myself. I may move my head more and use my hands. Sometimes I do look away though, cause I'm kinda shy sometimes anyways.

Yes, I know what you mean! It is not simple. Well, the best is, if you ask her. :-)) Which of your eyes the real one??? My sister had crossed-eye, when she was tired(But then she had an operation). We lauged a lot when we asked her : Hallo, where are you looking at now???
Now I know a woman in a shop where I often buy cookies, and I always feel that she is not a true-hearted woman, because she do not look at my eyes, She allways look at my shoulders. So I'd rather look at the cookies, and the cassa.
On the otherhand: It can notbe simple for the people neither who have crossed eyes, because nobody can look into their eyes.

Never a cross eyed person, but my ex-girlfriend had a lazy-eye. I honestly didn't even notice once I'd known her for a while. But I guess a lazy-eye isn't as noticable as cross-eyes. I don't know if I'd find it distracting or not - I don't usually make much eye contact while talking.
