My children's school is teaching the "Say No to Drugs". Which I think is great! But this year, my child came home and told me that I am doing drugs because I smoke. I was floored! I know cigarettes are addictive. But I would not want my child to think that because I smoke that it is the same as smoking pot or crack. By teaching children that smoking cigarettes have a adverse effect, sending them the message that lots of adults do drugs openly, so it must be ok? School teachers, officals, actors, parents, and much more smoke cigarettes. What do you think? And yes...I know I should quit smoking, but that is not the point. They would still see others in public smoke cigarettes openly and not be arrested for doing so. Elementary kids are too young to understand the difference between smoking cigarettes and crack. And I would not want my child going to school saying that my mommy does drugs!

you know children's first impression developed from home if they'll seeing you doing smoking so they will more attracted towards rather then seeing any stranger out side. you should try to quit and let your children understand this thing is bad.

Before anything i must specify that I'm also a smoker and badly need to quit it but I can't. As per me the only difference is that on is banned and the other is not as the later is more dangerous.

I agree that people put too much negativity toward smokers. I don'y smoke, but I have inlaws who do and it doesn't bother me a bit. My parents are against smoking and they always say negative things about it.
