Spoiling children at christmas...

Do you think it is detrimental to tehir development, or is it nice to see their faces overwhelmed with the amount of what they have? I am in trouble off my partner for buying my baby son too much for christmas. It appears we have different opinions on what christmas, expecially gifts, entails. Due to our diverse upbringings I think... Am I allowed to want to give my son everything? I dont want to make him selfish or obsessed with material things, but the kid has lived in hand me downs from his six older cousins and hardly ever gets anything new, special or just his.

I do not think that you want to set yourself up to where they would come to always expect it. We decided to cut back on spending this year. The girls just had more stuff than ever got played with. We went for what we thought they wanted most.

My kids are pretty good kids and don't ask for too much. My boyfriend and I try to buy them most things on their wish lists. Christmas is the one time of year we try to spoil our kids and each other. Our kids are not selfish because of it.

You did't say how old your son is. Until they are at least 3 too much can overwhelm and confuse them.. At 2 and undre they will prwfer the box that presants come in.

I don't think that will because if it happens one time a year.
