Do you do Crafts with Children?

Last year this time, my kids and I made a bunch of ornaments out of salt dough and cookie cutters. Once we dried them out, we painted them. It was great because we donated them to the school that was shipping off Christmas decorations to those from the Katrina disaster that didn't have any decorations. Besides that, yes, I make craft with my kids often. I think the older kids like Unkrainian Egg dying the best! But I can only do it with the older kids because it involves hot beeswax.

When they were younger,I always did crafts and art with them. Now they are all grown up.

I just had my daughter, so no we don't have that yet. Sounds like you enjoy doing that with them, I'm glad.

My granson is almost three and we try to make things with him but it doesn't always go well.lol. We made Christmas cookies with him last year and he kept eating the dough.lol. You wouldn't happen to have the "recipe" for the dough ornaments,do you? I had one but I don't know where it is.

I love to make crafts, and it's even better when I do them with my kids. I have made cinnamon ornaments with the kids in the past, we actually gave them as gifts and received a lot of comments, because of the fragrant cinnamon scent it gives off , wonderful. I myself have tried decoupage, and love it, but the decoupage glue is somewhat expensive, do you have any tips or tricks to use regular Elmers glue? I want to try dough ornaments with the kids, but need to wait for the little ones to get a little older, they may want to eat them.

craft is my hobby and i love doing it. but my daughter is just 1 yr old so i could not do it with her now but laterz when she will be get older we will both enjoy doing it together.

Last year we made candles. We found some big clam shells at the beach, and we melted parafin wax with color crayons to make pretty colors. I bought some candle wicks at Michaels for very little money. We poured the wax in the candles, and set the wicks, when they were almost dry, we put a shiny white bead in each one, not too close to the wick, it looked like a pearl. They turned out sooooo cute, we sent them to the grandparents.

I love doing crafts with children. When I was a nanny for two little girls, we did so many different kinds of crafts together. I think it really helps to build a child's creativity and their self esteem!
