Open ERP means free & open Enterprise Resource Planning. How is this Open ERP better than ERP. What are the benefits from the open ERP?

Hi,
Open ERP means in my opinion OPEN Source. Which means no single person or company owns the product.
Advantages:
1. Cost benefits just like LINUX
2. No development constraints, you can modify CORE code or build your own without violating any contracts.
Disadvantages:
1. No technical support, so if getting into a serious issue you are pretty much on your own
