Do you have a favourite recipe for mulled wine?

Winter and Christmas are the season for mulled wine. Do you have a recipe to share? What spices and fruit do you use? My own recipe involves preparing a syrup with orange, lemon, sugar and spices which is added to wine as needed and then gently warmed. Wine should never be boiled, or indeed heated above what can just be sipped. Boiling destroys the flavour of wine and drives off all the alcohol.
