I LOVE thrift stores. I also enjoy yard sales but don't go as often. I especially like church yard sales! We have one church yard sale that is yearly and they have so much stuff it would take you hours to look through it all. It starts at 6 and I always make sure to get there at 5 am so I'll be close to the front of the line. The first day you pay regular price but the second day they let it go for cheaper. I don't understand why so many people think shopping at thrift stores is gross or dirty. It's not. I've found brand new clothes or close to brand new clothes for my kids. They are well dressed and look very cute in some of the clothes I've found for them. One of the thrift stores here has a Saturday sale where everything under a dollar is half off and anything above a dollar is 30 percent off. One of the last times I went, I spent around 13 dollars and walked away with TONS of clothes for them. The clothes ended up costing around .45 cents each for pants and shirts! Not bad at all, if you compare it to brand new prices. Now... I don't know how my kids will act about "thrift store clothing" when they get older but as children, they don't care at all.

I love going to yard sales. If I see a sign on Saturday morning, I make my hubby stop to see if I can find something I like. He shakes his head but he usually find something he like to get it too.

I also love a good bargain. I don't go to yardsales to often. But I cannot stay away from my local goodwill. I have picked up so many brand name and brand new things for my home and my children and saved an enormous amount of money in the process. Some things you will still have to go to wal-mart of the mall for but a penny saved is a penny earned. Why pay $50 dollars for something when you can get it for $5 dollars. I have tried to tell people about goodwill and they all look at me like I am crazy. They don't want to be seen in a place like that. Oh well their loss and our gain.

Yard sales are ok, they can be good treasure hunts. Thrift stores are good when I don't have Church Rummage Sales and Flea Markets and library book sales to go to. I like the bag sales since the bag goes for 3 dollars or less. I sure know how to fit in alot of items. Spending our money in this manner is saving us and saving useful things from becomming trash!
