Most Effective Anti Virus Programs

I am using the AVG free anti virus software. I recommend it as an excellent product. Moreover it is a free one, and has almost all capabilities included within it. I want to know about other anti-virus programs which are excellent in perfomance. I wish to know about the programs that don't make the computer slower. There are hundreds of products available making it a bit confusing to choose an alternate one. Please offer your response. Shyam

yes .. u r rite.. AVG is good. i am using Norton.. its also good. but its making the system a little slower.. but anyway we have to give up some thing for a good security

I have used Norton for long and found the following; It does not have capabilities to prevent many viruses. If any virus enters, it first corrupts Norton's files, and we will only come to know about viruses in system after we come to some sort of troubles. Feeling secure with Norton is over confidence - as I think now.

But, Norton has several drawbacks as it has the positives. That's the problem.

I also use AVG, so far it serve my purpose but I also know AVG cannot cure all virus, so I use other anti-virus as well.

Can you offer your suggestions on which anti virus can be used to cure most viruses. Are there any anti vrus programs that can be used alongwith AVG? Most anti virus ask to uninstall any programs installed before installing the new one.
