How do you know he is ready for a baby?

Well hubby and I have talked till we where both blue in the face and for so long he just was not ready. Yesterday he said we should start trying that he will always be scared but he does want a baby and we would be good parents. He just worries he will make mistakes. I am sure everyone does on occasion. How will I be sure if he is really ready or if he is just trying to please me? How do I know he will not regret it and resent me and the baby? Fathers where you scared? Mothers how about you? your husbands?

I feaked out when I find out I was pregnant because I wanted to work, have fun before I get tied up with family things. Than when I saw my first ultrasound, all the thought about job, enjoy the party life was out of my mind. I was scared until I had my c-section, when I heard my daughter cried, I was ready for the new life. My hubby was scared too but he almost cry when he saw her when doctor pull her out from me. I enjoyed being a mom for 3 years. We are going to try for our second in about year or so. If you guys talked about it and if he is ready, I dont think he will resent you and the baby. It helped my hubby strighten up his priority in his life.
