How creative are you? All human beings are creative in their own way.

Creativity is so delicate a flower that praise tends to make it bloom, while discouragement often nips it in the bud. I am lucky, throughout my life, my creativity was identified by my teacher, my parents, my friends, as a result I am able to excel in many fields. Similarly, in every one's life, you must have either experienced either creativity encouraged, or discouraged. Can you please narrate your experience?

I am very much creative but no one, I mean no one recognized my skills when I was small. Its pathetic. But I am thankful they were not recognized because, if they were I will not be doing this job and that way, I will never meet my hubby. He is the greatest gift that God ever gave me. And this is one incident that I believe in fate. Now, I use my talents to help my kids and they are doing wonders with my help.

Many creative activity is seen and learnt. Some passed on to us by our parents, grand parents, some we learn at school or college, some when we are at work, we pick it up. Creativity is to be developed in everyone not because they have to go in that line of activity when grow old. It is part of life to pass the time, to improve our skills, to generate new and additional income. Thanks for sharing your personal views and glad to note you are passing it on to your children. That is how it should go on. My aunt who was in Nepal was a great a great lace worker. I do not see the present day girls doing the lacework. It was all done during her leisure time. When I went to Nepal, I expressed my desire to posses some of the lace work done by her, believe me she gave most of it to me. It is very kind of her, and it is valuable too and nice to have such wonderful things in their remembrance.

I don't know if it is creative or not, I call it curiosity, but I love to try new things that are difficult. My thoughts on literature were always different than my teachers. I thought I was not intelligent enough to understand. Only after I graduated from school did I realize that the teachers had to use the answers provided to them from the suppliment books used for lessons. Now I love to read again and let my mind go with my own thoughts, sometimes coming up with an explanation no one has thought about before. So, I guess my creatitivity would be to make people think in other realms instead of just the norm.

Creativity does not end in one specific area. It covers all aspects of our life. There was a great philosopher SRI AURUBINDO (a French woman was his follower, besides millions of followers). He had written a book on Yoga. One of the creativity he had discussed is with day to day work at office at elsewhere. He says:
Whatever others are doing, you do little better and little more and be best in your endeavour. That is Yoga. I follow this for the past 20 years and it is yielding good results.
Whatever you are doing is also creativity. Thanks for narrating an interesting example of creativity. Thanks for the response too.

I used to be very creative. When I got my first home I made my own curtains, cushions e,lampshades etc. It was mor a case of having to make something out of nothing as money was tight. I also made a lot of my own clothes and used to knit a lot. I used to enjoy it but never seem to have the time or energy to do stuff like that now..

I am so happy to learn from your response that your creativity was highly useful in saving lot of money, by doing your household requirements. It can always be done when it is required isn't? Did any one appreciate your work? Who encouraged you? Thanks for very interesting response.
