Pay overdue, what to do?

Several months ago, I was obliged to quit my secretarial job because my employer could not pay me anymore after going months without a salary. They claim they don’t have money and am still waiting for back pay. Going to court is not a solution because they owe plenty of money to other people, including suppliers and they have practically no assets. Any of you had a similar experience?
