At what age is a man ready to become a father?

Theres so much emphasis placed on the age of mothers in contemporary society, but what about men? Is it okay for a twelve year old boy to become a father? At what age do you think society finds it acceptable? What age do you find it personally acceptable?

Biologically, I think a man can become a father once he crosses puberty. However, looking at the cost of living today, the lifestyles and the pressures that one faces in life, I think that a man should be around 24 or 25 before he could think of parenthood for the first time, provided of course he should be earning enough to support a family, and has the time to share the responsibility with his partner/wife for bringing up the child. I must stress that the upbringing of the child has to be done together as partners with equal responsibility, and not the just mother who must care for the child.

I'd just like to add here that the legal marraigable age in India is 18 for women and 21 for men. The law calls for various penalties if someone married before that, unless there were mitigating circumstances.

I think I'd feel the same age that's appropriate for women is also appropriate for men. I'm not sure what age is right; I guess it depends on the person and their circumstances. I think the most important thing is that the people involved are psychologically mature, independent, want to have a child and are in a position to be able to look after it.

I think it is ok for a twelve year old boy to be a father. If he can make a baby, he can be a father. I think around 18 years old is what the society finds to be acceptable age for a man to be a father. I think anywhere from twelve on is a good age for a man to become a father.

12? i dont think so that would be so so young. but what i believe is that age doesnt matter when it comes to motherhood or fatherhood. as long as your not mayure enough mentally, financially unstable and emotional unblanced even your already at the right age you still dont have the right to bring another life in this world.
if you are financially stabel, mature enough, intelctually able and emotionally ready with whatwver age you may be (but so young like 12yo) then for me you are acceptable as to be a father.
