I am so so tired of how commercialized Christmas has become and the commercials about buy this or buy that and it's the perfect gift. You have to spend tons of money for your Christmas to be perfect. Yikes!! Whatever happened to giving is better than receiving and being charitable??

Yeah, it does get old with the commercialism. A lot of kids don't even know about Christmas being Jesus' birthday celebration and that is so sad. I understand now why one of my aunts raised her kids to not believe in Santa or the Easter Bunny, etc. When I was a kid, I thought my little cousins were deprived, but I'll tell ya what, they were the most well-behaved kids I ever laid eyes on and they have grown into very productive adults. I think it's time to start explaining Santa as just a fun part of the holidays to children and let them know what Christmas really means. About the money part, I couldn't care less if I get Christmas presents as long as my family is together for a big dinner and all the kids and grandparents get gifts, ya know. We managed to do Christmas shopping on $150 one year and everyone got gifts they liked. Granted, they were not expensive gifts, but no one was offended by that. Guess I'm pretty lucky to have been brought up in a family that isn't materialistic.
