All religious texts were menat to inspire people to follw the law of the land. The same is the case of the Bible which was complied based on the limitations of knowledge that humans had when it took its form as we know it now. While I don't ascribe to any perticular religion, I do believe that there is a creator, but am unwilling to tie him up with any particular religion. The ideas behind any religion and texts are good, maybe filled up with inconsistencies and unrealities, but the aim is to lay down law and maintain order. Interpretation may vary though.

I don't think the Bible contradicts itself. I have read the Bible through and through, but I can't find any... if you read them carefully, study them then all seeming discrepancies vanish. It is a great book and I think it will be great to finish devouring them page after page. Thanks!
