What are your views on tongue rings? When people realize I have one there perception of me seems to change. Why do you think that that maybe? Are tongue rings still considered taboo?

im actually going to get mine done pretty soon. i brought it up to a few friends in a class of mine and the first thing one of them said is u know what all the guys are gonna think of u right....ill let u finish that for urself. i think somewhere along the way a lot of people were doing crazy things with them so everyone started putting the people with them into a stereo type..which really sucks...but hey, thats ur buisiness right??

They leave you wide open for some serious infections! Just not a smart thing to do..

Did you see my discussion about tongue piercings? I think there is a stereotype that guys with them must be gay. However, that's not always the case.

Tongue rings are basically supported by the rishis and the showmen in India to earn some money by showing different types of piercing through their tongue. Its also believed that if you do the tongue piercing to impress goddess and if she turns to you then you will gain great happiness and success in your life. Don't know how it became fashion. As now a days I have people getting their whole body pierced with pins and rings.
