How do you feel about bachelor and bachelorette parties?

Should they be all wild and crazy with strippers and excessive alcohol and crud? Or do you think they should be more laid back of just hanging out with some close friends and families doing whatever (going to the spa, golfing, go cart racing, whatever) and having some drinks? What are your feelings? What kind of bachelor or bacholerette party did you have?
