How to view several photos at once?

I have seen several questions about photo editing software, but my question is -
How can I easily have several photos open on screen at once? All I want to do is to be able to choose which out of a bunch of near-identical photos would be the best. This would be a really useful procedure! I use Windows Picture Viewer normally, but it only seems to allow one picture to be open at once.

You can pin them all to your clipboard and then copy them onto one sheet. You could put them all on one page by printing 5x3 1/2 inch quarter page pictures, you could use FX photo which allows you to put them in a collage format. My suggestion would be to go to www.download.com and look at the free photo editors that are available there.
