Genshiken: Make you feel Otaku?

I first watched Genshikin in my college anime club - this was before it was out on DVD, we had the fansubs. We watched about five episodes and then just kind of looked at each other and went 'holy crap, that's us!'. Our club only had about six members, and only two of us were girls. And one only came because her boyfriend was a member. It was kind of eerie. I definitely felt like an otaku though, realizing how much of the activities in the series I actually participate in. I've lived off of ramen for weeks so I could save up for a new figure or DVD, I've blown a whole paycheck on doujinshi, I Cosplay, I go to conventions....

I don't know about others but to those who really are in sense Otakus, I think so. I felt the Otaku in me when I watched the two seasons as well as read the manga more for those other stories that the anime left. Its such a nice series ^_^
