Do you remember the first book you ever read and fully enjoyed it(Apart from the regular school books)? My first book was "Runway Zero Eight" by Arthur Hailey. This was a good novel about an attempt to land a four engined jet plane with the pilot disabled and with the help of a pilot who has an experience of piloting only single engine fighter planes long back during the war. This book kindled my interest in reading and ever since ( I read this book when I was about 14 yrs) I have been an avid reader of fiction in English. What was / is your most favourite book in English?

If I remember right, I think my first book is the book written by Enid blyton. I used to love reading adventurous and mystry stories. Robin Cook, Arthur Hailey, and scores of other authors, the names of which is not comin to my mind. At present, I have read the Da Vinci Code, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo(Wordsworth Classics). They are very old books, but after a long gap of 12 years I am back to reading.

Forgive me, My first book was also by Enid Blyton (Who can forget the Famous Five & Secret Seven? - am I right?)What I meant to ask was about the first fiction book as an adult. I don't get new books - in original - here at my lending library. I hate to read books that are xerox copies.
