Do you honk horn unnecessary when you drive? If so when and why?

I hate drivers honking horn during traffic snarl. It's ok to blast the horn when actually they want to alert another road user, if he is careless driver or pedestrian walker. Unwated honking horns are really a noise pollusion. What do you think about it? Do you honk horn? If so when and why?

Last time when I gave the car for servicing, the horn was working and after service it was not functioning. The mechanic said I had to change it to new one. I didn't. It is 4 months, I am driving in the busiest streets of the city without horn.!! Now I am used to.
