Here is a blurb from Wikipedia: -------- Metric is a Canadian indie rock band. Originally formed in 1998 in New York City, they are currently based in Toronto, Ontario. I love Metric. And I loved them long before they were cool. lol. Not to sound like an indie snob or anything. Emily Haines is great. Have you listened to her solo album at all?

Hey, go ahead and sound like an indie snob! :) I don't quite have the indie snob cred, so I like hanging out with people who do. ;) And no, I haven't heard her solo album yet. I hope to see her solo show in a few months when she swings by where I live. I SO enjoyed the Metric show I saw a few months ago. Emily is such a fantastic performer! I think the stuff I heard is pretty good. They play one of their songs at a club I go to regularly. I dance to it everytime they play it. My sister is a big fan of them and that is how I heard them. My sister also has her solos album. I think I heard some of that and thought it was pretty good too.

I totally LOVE Metric. I first heard them in my friend's car when she was driving me home, and I just fell in love. My favorite song is "Combat Baby" and it's always stuck in my head! I also really like "Calculation Theme." Buuttt, they are ALL good, if you ask me.

I first heard this band on Pandora. I've got no idea what made it recommend it to me, but, I'm happy it did. I knew pretty much right away that I needed to grab this album. Her voice is so great, and the song (Police and the Private) was weirdly relaxing. I need to look into their other albums & her solo work, just haven't got around to it yet

The Police and the Private is such a great song! I occasionally get it stuck in my head for days at a time and walk around singing it under my breath. :) If you ever get a chance to see them live, do it! Emily is a great performer. Wyrdsister
