Just now my child aged 4 years ,has jumped up from sound sleep . This is third time withing last 3 weeks , the same dream he has dreamt . While waking up he cries shaking his hands as if his palms ache.He tells "perhaps I cannont write " . He looks up to the ceiling , cries out with fear and a gaze towards a particular direction of the room .After a considerable duration of crying only he comes to his mother's lap and againg sleeps down . We cannot figure out the probable cause of it .

perhaps yopu should try sleeping with him to see how he feels before he goes to bed and what he does. food can cause it too. Watch his behaivior during the day and see whats going on with him and how he plays.

Thanks for your quick response . My wife(his mother) has just told according to her observation he has dreamt the nightmare only when he sleeps before us and alone .We three sleep together normally . Since he is always either with his mother or myself or his prandparents , he always is under our observation and we never noticed any abnormal behaviour of him.But one probable cause may be the TV rpogrammes . Last night he watched a movie on a strange animal .
