Would you date/marry someone of a different religion/heritage?

Some of us have been told by our parents for years they want us to marry within our religion/heritage. My parents told me from a young age to marry within mine and while I've dated outside of it, after some not so nice experiences, I've come to realize I want to date/marry within mine. What happened when and if you dated/married outside of your religion/heritage?

It helps if the couple have things in common, but religion isn't the be-all or end-all of the world. It's probably the least important thing (the most important is that your personalities are compatible). I was raised Catholic, my husband was raised Protestant, we're neither of us at all religious, and are very happy.
