You should always ask your partner to get an STD/AIDS test before trusting them with your body. My boyfriend and I get them every year, just to be sure nothing new pops up. If the person you are with gets mad or defensive if you ask them to get tested, you might want to rethink your choice. ONly thing is, there is no point to asking the person to get tested if you don't trust them. You will not directly know what their results are, because of the confidentiality.

If you trust your partner enough they'll tell you. But the best way is to have both of yourselves checked. Its both your futures that is at stake.

I did not see this discussion until after I posted the one I just did about Blood Testing before marriage. I think it should be required and the results shared to the intended spouses. I'm not going to post my full reasonings here but you can read it here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/415394.aspx Basically though I've seen some who don't tell and the partner then suffers because of it. It's a shame that a few can cause us all to be wary but it happens.

Well just ask them to get a checkup. It's not shocking these days to think that someone may have one. I don't think they'll be offended or anything. I hope not. :)
