rent to own a house good idea?

Has anyone ever rented to own a house and is it a good idea or not. Some of your rent is applied to the down payment after a x amount of time. Just curious if anyone has done this and if so did it work out?

Depends! If you are serious about buying a home and are serious about doing what it takes to repair your credit and get your own mortgage then it is a great way to move into the home you really want NOW and buy it later when your credit improves.
If you think you are going to keep messing your credit up then you are better off just renting. I bought a beautiful home on rent to own or what the company called Lease Purchase from www.EZHouseBuying.com
