Are men and women equal?

Are men and women equal? Is everyone of different races equal? I think so. Do you think gender roles should be prescribed like women cooking and cleaning? I dont think so. I think everyone deserves the same exact thing. People should mix races and men should cook and clean too. Also if men and women are equal, doesn't that mean a man can hit a woman back? Doesn't sound equal to me if they can't. Not saying I would hit one though.
