My first time in trouble! Charge is theft by unlawful taking over 300

What is the punishment for theft by unlawful taking over 300 if found guilty? I was suppose to have done 2,500 in fraudulent returns at my previous employer. I was dismissed on Sept 27,06 and a warrant was served on me Dec 8, 06 at my new job. I have never been in trouble before or had any dealings with the law. Will someone please give me some advise?
