Educational requirements to be a Nascar Driver

My 7 year old son has to do a report on what he wants to be when he grows up,and of course he wants to be the next Jeff Gordon. Does anyone know what the educational requirements are to become a Nascar driver?

I think It's a high school diploma, and about 800-1000 hours of drive experience. He can go to the nascar school in ATLANTA. thats the only one I know about. there are some nascar simulation machines in some malls around the country, and they record the hours you put into it.and it is good for credit at the school.
