spongebob square pants, is he gay?

spongebob is my most favorite cartoon character but they said that he's gay? is it true? coz if he really is gay then he's not a good influence to very young children....

First of all, how could an animated character be called "gay" or even "heterosexual"??
I don't remember sexuality coming into the cartoon at all, but maybe I missed it?
And IF he were to be gay, what makes you think that would be a bad influence on children?? Many children watching the cartoon have gay parents.

you could see that just by the way he acts, and i remember one episode where mr. crabs told spongebob that he looks like a girl and spongebob says, "am i a beautiful girl? (his cheeks turn red)"... instead of disagreeing...

Maybe so, but how is that being a bad influence on the children? I think that all of the gay parents out there would disagree.
