How do you get rid of pesky phone calls from telemarketers?

Ask them if they can just hold on a minute, put the phone down on the table and walk away! Go back and check after about 30 mins - bet they won't be there! Or say "Sorry I'm busy right now, give me your home phone number and I will call you back later when you are in the middle of cooking dinner!" lol

I do the same thing. I don't ask them to hold, I just set the phone down and walk away.

We used to have a land phone and we turned off the sound to it, because off all the telemarketers and bill collectors calling all the time.
