My daughter was in the US Army Corps of Engineers. She learned to drive hugh earth-moving machines and to build roads and was active duty for 8 years. She was stationed in the US, in Korea, in Germany and in Kosovo. I remember her telling about being trained to recognize left-behind land mines! Is it common for your women to be in the military and what do you think about that?

I think it's ok for women to be in the military. My sister's in the Marine Corp and I was going to join the Air Force, but thanks to my husband for getting me pregnant I can't do it now.

When I was in college, I was a cadette at the Women's Auxiliary Training Corps then became a Cdtte Capt and Commanding Officer. I was a student of the Philippine College of Criminology taking up Bachelor of Science in Criminology and the WATC is optional for women. I joined hoping to become a reserved officer then called to active duty. I passed the Armed Forces General Classification Test. However, I was not immediately called to active duty and became an Inspector of the National Police Commission and there was no urgent need to call the reserve officers to active duty so I was never in the military.
But our country enlists women to join the military and there are actually women in the military especially doctors, etc. in the medical corps.
For me it's alright for women to be in the military and I wanted to join but wasn't able.
