What is Intel Core 2 Duo? Is it really fast if u used it in ur computer?

I think intel core2duo is fast enough in its processor class .... but when you look in a pc system (whole system) ... processor is not everthing ... there is many2 other peripherals that also must be count to makes a computer fast ... for example : if you use a core2duo (make it the fastest speed) .. but if you only add 256 MB ddr 2 266 mhz .. your system will slow ... since you will get bottle neck .... sorry my english is poor ... but my point is .. what u need isn't the really fast processor .. but .. a system that balanced once each other so that it can support each other .. not bottle necking each other ... IMHO cmiiiw
