51"Magnavox HD Rear projection TV

I have a Magnavox 51 “High def rear projection. The unit is on almost all of the time. Now the picture is going bad. Getting grainy and the colors are messed up. I actually have to completely cover the blue projector in order to get a ok picture. What could the problem possibly be? Do I just need to replace the blue projector? Or is it more than that? Any advice would be helpful, this unit is so big I really don’t want to transport it, but got to fix it.
