At the end of the day when you're finished with your computer, do you turn it off, leave it on,put it in sleep mode or stand by? My new computer doesn't have a sleep mode but if you don't use it for a period of time,it automatically goes into standby mode. What is really better for your pc?

Frequently I will fall asleep to a online radio station called brandoclassicotr.com which plays the radio shows of old like The Shadow or Jack Benny etc.I was worried how it would affect the life of my comp but my g/f (who is a comp tech) says other than using electricity,it does no harm.

I leave mine on, I believe it is better to leave it on and just turn the monitor off. YOu should have a surge protector to plug it into and not directly into the wall.

I save everything and turn it off if I am gone from it for a long period of time!
