I am not sure of the education system in Canada but here in Australia, public schools are those which are government run and private schools are run generally by any of the Churches and fees are paid by parents. In the UK it is the reverse, which is why I include this little explanation.
Both my husband and I were educated in the public school system, however we sent our son to a private school for all of his education. In the intervening years there had been many changes of course. We chose the private school system because we felt that it offered the best education he could get, and it certainly was very good. Our son is very bright, and at least in the private school system they broadened his education out, extending him to the very limits, which was good.
Of course, no one system suits everyone but our choice was made and we believe it was a good one for our son. The image I have included is of the school that our son went to all those years ago. :)

I attended public school. I think private school is much better for kids today. Especially if you want them to learn anything. My son was homeschooled and attended private school during his high school days. It was the best for him to learn. We tried public school in elementary and all he was learning was how to be gansta.

I went to a public school .... that was all my parents could afford then .... and also no private school for my church in the area. When I got married ... silly mistake that was too .... I changed religion .... so when daughters went to school they went to a private school. The oldest did all her primary and first 2 years of secondary at private school .... then decided to change to public school .... by this time my ex and I were divorced ... and I had no say in the matter. My youngest did all her schooling at private school ..... till she decided it was better to get a job.
The schools were good .... but the ex had the girls living with her .... and didn't make them do much about their homework .... that was wrong and also they fell behind in their schooling ..... so the fees paid for the high school years were wasted on my daughters.

I went to public school and so do my children. I feel the private sector is to up tight. Public is better for socializing with your peers and you don't have to wear that ugly uniform and pay wads of money to go.

public school.Well, depending on your country.I live in Singapore and most children will go to the government school which is alsocalled as public school owned by the government. Therefore school fees are ALOT ALOT cheaper and the standard is there. So you won't go wrong following the government school. As for private they tend to cheat. They will tend to cheat your money, time and probably even the stuff they teach.Go to a public school. It's probably alot better.
