The Logistics Concept

The Logistics concept has been around for a long time but was mostly only associated with the army in the past. For instance, during the second world war, battles were won on a logistics platform, which is a concept about the flow of good from producers to the customer and the reverse flow of information processes from the customer, through the relevant network partners, back to the producers. Logistics has only taken root in the commercial realm recently, and is yet to be understood, appreciated and applied in third world countries, any reasons why, and any valuable solutions, ladies and gentlemen?
