The Same God?

Islam claims that Allah is the same God who was revealed in the Bible. This logically implies in the positive sense that the concept of God set forth in the Quran will correspond in all points to the concept of God found in the Bible. This also implies in the negative sense that if the Bible and the Quran have differing views of God, then Islam's claim is false. This issue can only be decided by a comparison of the two documents in question. It should not be decided on the basis of religious bias on any side but by a fair reading of the texts of both books. Many Westerners assume that Allah is just another name for God. This is due to their ignorance of the differences between the Allah of the Quran and the God of the Bible and also due to the propaganda of Muslim evangelists who use the idea that Allah is just another name for God as an opportunity to convert Westerners to Islam. The Bible and the Quran are two competing documents that differ in their concept of deity. This fact cannot be overlooked just because it is not in conformity with the present popularity of religious relativism.

Muslims believe what's in the Bible. But, they interpret it differently. For example, they believe in Christ. But they feel Christ was only a prophet, not the son of God and not God himself (and, incidentally, the Bible never says Christ is God, that stance was taken by the Church later). Muhammed's belief was Christians lost favor with God because they started worshipping Christ in that manner.

Jesus did clain that he was the Son of God, but more importantly he was the son of Man. He did instruct his disciples not worship him as a man, but inside that man was a part of God which God himself sent to us. So no I don't worship Jesus the Man, but I do worship the part of Jesus which was God. Just like in the end times there will be an anti-christ he will be born a man, but will become indwelt by satan. The human body that walsk and talks will not be Satan, but what's inside will be. Only he will demand the world worship him or die.

The was on religions will last until the end of time, how are we ever going to figure out who's right? Which religion is the truth? That's why there will always be war because us humans cannot just leave it alone and go about our lives.

God must be having a good laugh watching all of us trying to figure out who he is. Maybe that is why he doesn't take an interest to come down and clarify matters. In the good old days he has been coming here and interacting with people. At least the prophets. But now he does not show much interest. Maybe he likes to keep us on suspense and allow us to run our brains dry trying to figure out things by ourselves.

yeah, i agree with you. and we all know that debates and opinions about religion and god are always unanswerable. you answer it and there goes another question. so why bother anyway? just believe what you believe and live your life. right? yeah! =D

You know I forget the verses in the Bible but I know it states that God does not want us to worship false idols like when moses came down from the mount and found his people praying to the idols. God told them it was wrong. There is another verse that says god would rather have you praise him in a clost then to make a show of praising him. I believe that all you have to do is believe in God and be a good person. You do not have to attend a church. So as long as people are following the cammandments they will go be with god in the end. I don't fault anyone for their beliefs, different cultures have different beliefs. I believe that people can do what they want and they are entitled to what they want to believe in. I think more people should check out different religions maybe they would have a better understanding of what other people believe in.

GOD the creator of the heavens, earth and all in it is yahweh by name as revealed to moses is not the same that the muslims claim as allah. allah is amung the super disobidient messengers of yahweh the were thrown out of their original domain b/c of rebellion. yahweh is not the author of confusion. HE sent his first begotten son JESUS CHRIST the only way to him after all the founder of islam did not say he is another way.

Yes i m agree with that cause Jesus is the messenger of Allah but the fact is that Christians say that Jesus is son of god they worship of son of god not the worship of God (ALLAH).

let me discuss further. The BIBLE has 2 testaments ( the Old & the New) What is written in the OLD testament can also be seen in Quran...Moslems believes in the one ultimate God who created heaven & earth whom they called ALLAH. The Bible cannot compete with Quran as what is written in the Quran at the time of Abraham is still the same Quran moslems are using today. every word written has never changed. BIBLE has many versions and different interpretations.

What's the TRUTH that you believe? Religion is not the basis here, it's who we believe & who we have faith with. The God I believe is the God who created everything. How about you? Having faith to the God I believe is where i grow spritually and I live with whatever teachings I am following. The bible never metioned Islam or the Quran because the New Testament of the Bible focus on Jesus Christ whom some Christians claims that JESUS CHRIST is GOD thereby Christianity came. but after Christ the Last prophet came and that is Mohammed. that's the reason why there was no Quran or moslems in the Bible. Believe on whoever you believe with, anyway nobody can save our souls but only ourselves; Goodluck!

The God of Abraham is the God of Jews, Muslims, and Christians. During worship services in a Mosque often include readings from the bible, just as Christians still refer to the Old Testament and the Pentateuche, the first five books of the Christian bible and contained in the Torah of Judaism. It is order in lineage that separates them with Judaism being the first form of worship, Christianity coming after Judaism, and Islam coming after Christianity. All are worshipping the God of Abrahma. It is the same God. There is no competition.

Starting a discussion just for the sake of arguement and critisism without having proper education and knowledge about things has become a very common thing these days. If you have any doubts and concerns, go to an educated person in the subject you want and decide yourself, what is right. Good Luck! May the Creator of the heavens and the earth guide you.

Hi QUOTE It should not be decided on the basis of religious bias on any side but by a fair reading of the texts of both books. UNQUOTE You are absolutely correct... Can the Bible be verified by Scientific fact??? It seems that a fair amount of it has! Can the Koran be verified by Scientific fact?? Not as far as I know But I may be wrong....

The eternal truthis that GOD is an ACRONYM for GADGET Of DREAMS. The dream we see in the nighscape comes into being by means of strong willpower. The Medium.....GOD... there is no denial to he fact that prayer is the best way of dreaming and manipulating the likelyhood.

MMM....I do not really agree with you...as for the 3 major religions (ie Jewish, christian and muslims) it is a fact that it's the same God (being called Yaweh, God or Allah). I don't think, if you compare (in christian's bible) the old and the new covenant, that the concept of God is completely similar, however, nobody would deny that it talks about the same God. I read Quran years ago, and the princips teached are not so different than those in the bible. Now we have to remember that even if it was revealed by God himself, these holy books were written by man, different men at different times. Even in the same religion, the concept of God is completely different from one person to another, I do certainly not have the same "idea" of God than you have), so even more if these persons are from different religions. God is not a name, it's an "appelation" God has several names (for example, Adonaï, Y-H-W, H (tetragammaton), Eloheynu, HaShem to name a few in the Judaïc religion, and He has 99 names in the islamic tradition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99_Names_of_God moreover the founders prophets (Abraham, Moishe....) are the same too between these 3 religions. Now, no Allah is not just another name for God, it's just the standard arabic tranlation for the word "God"

every religion has there own name for there own gods. but whatever name it is. they are still refering to the one that created all of us and to the one that created life on earth. eventhought they have many names it depends on what you believe on. And may allah is the name of there god that is our god but dont have the same name.bec. there language is not english. But there is only one true god.

yah..God indeed is one. religions like Islam and Christianity has the same God...though Christians are more into the teachings of christ whom people believed the son of God..there are many religions here on earth..And I do believe people are giving faith to the same God.. Its just that..God has alot of names.. the differences are..religions have its own nor other explanations of it.. wisdoms here wisdoms there.. religions are just giving you a path for a better life..It leads you to see whats right and wrong.. but sadly to know the fact..because of these wondering, uncontented mind of humans.. they tend to compete with the other religions...believe me its true. That's why I decided to put myself in the middle... more like i'm not into religion at all.. I didnt say I have no God.. What I mean is I do pray to God..even if I'm not into religion. Anyway..religions cannot save your soul... even if you're in Islamic religion nor Christianity.. It all depends in you. your faith in God and your doings. :)
