I love forensic Tv shows. But I often wonder if it help murders or people who comment a crime better. Because it shows them how to do the crime better without leaving any forensic behind. What do you think?

I suppose it is like the hackers who get into computer programmes, the scientists etc have to try to stay one step ahead of the public. I often wonder if it is such a good thing to show criminals how to get away with crime, and only today I watched an item on a crime series where they showed how the crook got in and out and basically showed that anybody else could do the same. Do we really need to be shown all the time how somebody could get away with crime.

It can help criminals in some cases-- assuming they watch the shows and are smart enough to take action on it. I have also heard something similarto what the other person said, not that it's harder to get jurors, but maybe harder to get convictions, because jurors want to know why the prosecution doesn't have this or that type of evidence. Most crime labs aren't as advanced as what you see on TV, and some of the tests can take weeks or months.
