Before making such remark i think u forgot that India hv more than 24 million christians who would like to celebrate Christmas with same joy n excitement as Hindus celebrate Diwali and Muslims Eid ! Christmas is not a western event, its about religion n people following that religion.

why would one in india want to celebrate christmas. unless he is foolishly copying christian/western world. christ is a myth and it is foolish to celebrate birth of a myth.

Christmas is not a cultural occassion..it belongs to a particular community..youth..So wheather it should be celebrated or not..depends upon mind set.in a broder sence it should be celebrated. But if we will think it will hamper our culture..one may not celebrate it.It depends upon individuals..

I dont think so there is any harm in that.Every festival tells us to be happy and share happiness with others. Also due to such occession we come together and enjoy.

What do you exactly mean by 'christmas in india'. Christmas is celebrated in many parts of the world with pomp and grandeur. Thanks for the nice post. :)

CHRISTMAS - MARY, JOSEPH, AND BABY CHRIST
THE BIRTH OF CHRIST
Christmas is not a "Western Event", it is a Christian Holiday. If you are a Muslim living in India, I do not see why you would celebrate Christmas (the Birthday of Christ), unless you want to ignore the true meaning of the holiday and jump on the materialistic bandwagon and just see how many gifts you can collect... Christmas is one of the most special Christian Religious Holidays.
