I had the same problem not a long time ago. Wow, this topic was started 4 years ago! Instead of starting a new discussion I responded to this one to avoid redundancy.
I was in the middle of an important project when suddenly some of the keys on my keyboard were nonfunctional. I couldn't run out and buy a new keyboard because it was in the middle of the night. On the web, I found this tip on how to repair a keyboard. Here's the link: http://www.instructibles.com/id/Repairing-a-Computer-Keyboard/
I disassembled the keyboard and found out that the traces in the keyboard were damaged. Instead of using a conductive ink pen as the article suggested I used a readily available pencil to repair the traces since the graphite material on a pencil conducts eletriity too. And voile! My keyboard was working nicely as new and I could continue with my project. The net day of course I bought a new keyboard because this kind of temporary fix usually doesn't last long.
