I started a broadband connection few days ago with a local network and been so upset with the poor service and signal, my internet connection always get cut off...so irritating! I thought I could have a faster connection than DSL or dial up but gosh, really sucks with this broadband. It distracts my myLot work, hehe and all my surfing needs at work.

yeh my friend has the same problem it is so annoying for me also as we chat on MSN all the time and right in the middle of it it just cuts him off lol well he phoned them up and complained and they sent him a new modem but it still hasnt worked so he is really contemplating just telling them where to stick it and the contract as basically they are not fufilling their side of the contract so they have no hold over him so my advise is phone up and complain if they do nothing tell them they are not fufilling their contract and that you would like to cancell it that may get them to do something about it :p Hope you get it fixed

broadband - i hate it when i get disconnected for hours.
i get what you mean. yesterday, i got disconnected for like 15 hours. i needed to go to the office and complain about it. they however helped me out by giving me toll free numbers to where i can contact them if ever it happens again. it was so irritating since i was supposed to chat with my boyfriend.

Broad bacd is one of the greatest revolution in the field of networking. The speed of the broadband must be more advanced as per the development in scince and technology . Because since the speed now is too low. If we see after some 50 years or so the speed may even go upto 5 MBps or even more..

yeah the very reason why I choose broadband is the high speed but I guess it's a network problem, thanks for the account you share. hope this will be a real revolutionizing experience in the coming days.

do you have an anti-virus installed on your pc? maybe it has a lot of viruses that's why it's not functioning well. i even experienced the same thing before. i'm connected with a broadband but still, it's running too slow. then i tried installing an anti-virus software. and it works!
• Philippines

Well its better to talk to the service provider I know i had real bigtime fights with my previous broadband provider I usually used to threaten them, but then they would never change You know how much you try to straighten up a dog's tail, it will remain tilted Same way, i know its irritating i have experienced that But you better talk to the local operator By hook or crook you need to be a bit authoritative and you got to threaten him a bit that might do the work

I have threaten them that I will give it up and ask for refund, they say that they will come tomorrow to check, I hope they do something to improve the connection or else I'll really give it up and ask for a refund. thanks dude!

I have used both DSL and comcast cable internet. I would say that the DSL I have is fast enough for general purpose. I have verizon DSL and it works absolutely flawless. It is never down. I also have wireless router and we use three computers with that connection still a very good speed. Definitely consider good DSL company before going for broadband. You will save some bucks without compromising speed.

i will consider that options if nothing happens with my connection with broadband soon. thanks. have a great day! God bless!

I also experienced that before when our broad band was just new and we experienced that for 2 weeks but we keep complaining to the company that if they will not fixed it we will cancel our subscription and thank God we never got problem anymore with our connection. Maybe it is just a problem of some subscriber when the line is just new just wait and you will see that you will never get problem anymore.

Just an idea.. I have broadband as well, and I couldn't figure out why I kept getting disconnected all the time. I was really annoyed as well.. But I found out that it was the cable cord I was using. Have you tried a different cord to connect to the cable line?
• Philippines
13 Dec 06
how were you able to know if the problem is in the cable cord? I'm using a new one but don't know the type or brand, it's part of the installation package.

Out of curiosity, how much experiance do you have with computers and networks? If you know alot, you can probably track down whats slowing down the network. I have experiance on the technical side of it, but not as much on the customer end. A few more good questions would be how much do you pay for it, and where do you live? There are a lot of other companies out there that can provide better support. If it is a local provider, a visit in person could be a viable option. I have traveled all over the world, and I can't believe the differences in speeds of the internet connections claiming to be the same speed. I also can't believe how routed the connections are these days, and how many different systems it goes through from the tech control all the way to the user/customer. Good luck with your problem, if you need anymore help let me know.

maybe you can help me, hehe, just kidding...I had used dial up and DSL before, had no problem like this. the speed is no problem, but the connection suddenly cuts. maybe the signal isn't good 'cus there are high rising condo buildings in the area so maybe one factor. My option is to change location for my antennae. Hope it fixes the problem. I am living in the city of Manila and broadband here is new...a year or so. thanks for your analysis, it helps.

hey try to use some nice internet connection like hathway. i dun prefer MTNL coz it stops many times and not worthy also. i prefer u to use hathway if it is available at ur place or either go for X broadband or pacenet (they are also nice).

i have a broadband connection to, and, I am very happy with it, it is just 9$ and I have a phone with many free minutes, I am downloading with 3 mb per sec. Broadband is the best :))
• Philippines
13 Dec 06
yeah broadband speed is really great, 300-500mbps but the only problem I have is the connection oftentimes cut off...maybe my signal has many distractions so I may change location perhaps.

I use comcast internet cable and love it, DSL is great but because no one is in my area there isnt much shared bandwidth so I always have top speed with them. But really it comes down to personal preferance. I dont like DSL because you actually have to have a working phone line and my wife and I use our cell phones as our lines. Cheaper and easyer then having to worrie about checking a message machine when you get home.
